Creventic withdraws their promotion activities of the 24H Belgrade City Race
Creventic decides to withdraw their promotion activities of the 24H Belgrade City Race. Despite of the approval of the regulations and the planed renovation of the circuit by the locale ASN this is not according to FIA standards. The FIA has expressed their concerns about the safety and the local organisation, although it is a national event. For this reason Creventic decided to stop the promotion of the 24H Belgrade City Race event.
If the circuit was according to FIA safety recommendations we are convinced that this event was a big challenge for a lot of teams. In the future we will always look for new challenges, like this city race, but of course we will never make concessions concerning safety.
All teams that have already registered and paid the entry fee will get a 100% refund of the entry fee.
During the process it appeared that the local standards are not according to FIA recommendations. Despite all our effort and several visits to Belgrade to build this event to a success we are finally not convinced by the local organiser about the safety measures that will be taken.
We apologise for cancelling this event but we are convinced most of the teams will be aware of the fact that their safety is our main concern.
Last but not least we would like to sincerely thank the teams that registered and wanted to take part at this new and exiting challenge together with us.
This means for this year we stick to our successful events:
3rd edition 12H Hungary, 8-9 October 2010
6th edition Dunlop 24H Dubai, 13-14-15 January 2011
