Alfa Romeo Brera 2.4 JTDm
Let's face it, new Alfa Romeos have never been short on style. But it's often said that if you are thinking of buying one, you should prepare for the worst...
Less-than-positive showings in Auto Express's recent Driver Power satisfaction report revealed that mediocre reliability and dreadful dealer service topped own-ers' concerns. .You are buying a great engine, not a great car,. said one. But what if the model you're looking at has a diesel and not a V6? Can an Alfa oil-burner really wear its badge with pride?
In fairness, the firm has done more than any other to enhance the reputation of performance diesels. And with its new five-cylinder JTDm-powered Brera, it continues to do so. You only have to look at the car's rear end to see that, unlike many rivals, Alfa treats its oil-burners just like its petrols.
The four chrome exhausts stick straight out, and are not turned apologetically to the floor as on most other diesels. There's no giveaway external badging, either - and, with the engine switched off, the only surefire way of identifying the fuel source is to lift the bonnet.
Inside the car, it's a similar story; the cabin of our SV model was trimmed to the usual sporty standard - and even had a purposeful-looking turbo-boost gauge. Our only complaint was with the optional panoramic sunroof - it looks good but robs headroom, particularly in the already cramped back seats. At idle, the engine is loud but not unpleasant, and under full throttle the car feels extremely powerful and at least as urgent as the petrol V6.
The Brera can sprint from 0-60mph in 8.1 seconds, and its slick six-speed gearbox makes the most of the 400Nm of torque. Top speed is 142mph, and it's a relaxed, comfortable cruiser at the legal limit. Economy is 41mpg - nearly twice as much as the petrol model. On more challenging roads, the steering is relatively light, yet extremely direct and reassuringly precise.
At 10.4m, the turning circle is also impressive, and makes the Alfa a competent town car, while the ride is firm but not uncomfortable. However, you can feel the weight of the diesel unit in fast corners, where body roll can be surprisingly pronounced. Few models offer such road presence, though, and while at ?27,500 the Brera is not cheap, it is one of the best-looking cars for the money.
Only time will tell if Alfa can address the criticisms over reliability and dealer service made in Driver Power, but one thing's for sure - with this Brera, it's made a great engine and a great car.

Danas su me zvali da zakazu termin !!!! Dobio sam Breru na 24h
Nazalost, ima jos da cekam, posto je prvi slobodan termin 7. jula i to za 2.4 JTD model.....za 3.2 V6 tek sredinom avgusta. Odlucio sam se za dizel sa 200 ks, pa cemo da vidimo sta moze

Vidim da nikog dosad u testovima nije previse odusevio taj dizel u Breri, a ni upravljanje i lezanje...ne ocekuj previse, pa sta bude - mozda ti .legne..
Ja bih ipak cekao 3.2!

Evo momci i devojke, teska srca sam vratio Breru malopre....pa da referisem
Da sam se odusevio autom, to vec i ne treba da se prica. Spoljni izgled je neverovatan, prosto savrsen. Odakle god pogledas auto, ne sklanja ti se pogled s njega. Felne su bile extra, 18 inca, po meni najlepse stoje od svih. Vec rekoh da sam uzeo 2.4 JTD M dizel, posto je 3.2 V6 bio dostupan tek sredinom avgusta, kad verovatno nisam ovde.
Dizel u Alfi, trn u oku vecine tradicionalnih ljubitelja, ali ja s tim nemam problema, stavise, mislim da bi vecina njih promenila misljenje da su se provozali u ovoj Breri Sa 200 konja i 400 Nm ume itekako da povuce, tj. ide kao sumanut Vuce dobro cak i od ispod 2000 obrtaja i vrti se do 5ooo
Ova sto sam je uzeo je bila sa Skz View pack-om...stakleni krov, ljudi ono je perverzija samo takva, odusevio sam se kolko je dobro. Unutra se sedi jako nisko, slicno kao u GTV-u starom, dosta sportskiji osecaj nego u GT-u i drasticno nize nego u 159-ki. Za razliku od GT-a i 156-tice, i u Breri, kao i kod 159-ke je nemacki koncept unutrasnjosti, najvise podseca na BMW 3 E46. Sedista su kozna, crna sa sivim aplikacijama i utisnutim Alfa logom. Predobra su, mada bih ja radije uzeo plavo-bez varijantu, koja ide sa plavo-bez unutrasnjoscu. Nazad je mnogo usko, ako neko sedne iza tebe, moras da vozis sa volanom ispod brade, da bi on mogao da se nekako skupi i stane u mesto. Ali to ionako nije predvidjeno za stalno
Sto se interijera tice, tu sam relativno neprijatno iznenadjen. Naime, isti je kao i u 159. Nikako to ne znaci da je los, sta vise, super je. Meni smeta cinjenica da platis 40.000 evra za auto i dobijes identican interijer kao i u duplo jeftinijem autu. Odaje utisak kvaliteta, sto se materijala tice, ali sve to kvari par plasticnih detalja, za koje mi je neshvatljivo da mogu da stave u Korejski auto, a kamo li u najskuplju alfu (piksla pored rucne je od jeftine plastike, koja odskace od svega i bode ocii, zajedno sa jos par sa leve strane volana)
Lezanje na putu je dobro, mada se oseti da hoce da bezi nos, najvise zbog teskog motora. Upravljanje na Alfinom nivou, direktno. Menjac precizan, sa istim polozajem kao kod 159-ke, dosta razlicitim od tradicionalnog, kao sto je na 156 i 145 i GT-u.
I na kraju....nesto od cega mi se digla kosa na glavi - skripa u vesanju, dobro poznata vlasnicima 156-tica, za sada laka, ali auto nema jos ni 10.000 km. Nadam se da je to samo na ovom primerku, ostalo bi bilo katastrofa.
Cena - ovakav primerak kao sto sam ja vozio je malo iznad 41.000 evra (koza, navigacija, stakleni krov, xenon 18'' felne). Po meni mnogo....
Da li bih ga kupio da imam para ? Verovatno ne, mada mi se jaaaako svidja. Uvek bih bila dilema - bolje opremljena Brera ili bazicni Porsche Boxer.....tesko da bi Brera imala mnogo sansi u toj dilemi...

Ne znam meni je lepsa GT od Brere, inace u svakom slucaju auto za kojim se svako okrene. Po meni je verovatno motor najbolji deo auta, razlog je sto ne volim auto koji je spolja lepsi od unutra, ja se ipak vozim u kabini. Jedan od retkih auta koji me je zadovolji sa unutrasnjosti je 407 kupe. Inace 407 je skuplja od brere u najacoj dizel verziji sa full opremom. Ovde u Belgiji je 50000 eura tako da opet za tih 10000 da se razmisliti.
