Can a car be too little to be said a sport car? We do not think so, as some great vehicles showed us: Mini Cooper S, Renault Clio RS, Volkswagen Polo GTI to make some few examples.
Fiat has not had a very aggressive car for some years. After Abarth's golden age, and good HGT proposals, the Italian manufacturer has not produced any other sport vehicles, while other worldwide maunfacturers has been ready to introduce a lot sport jewels.
But now...music has changed! By the way, we are all waiting for Fiat's answer to all sport drivers: the new big surpise will come from Alfa Romeo.
Structure
The technical basis is that of Grande Punto, with some probable changes on both suspensions and engines: it is almost taken for granted the use of a supercharged engine, a 1.4 150 hp one, while the top version could be powered by a new 1.8 JTB direct injection engine, which develops around 220 hp. Alfa 4C Junior is also expected to be equipped with self-locking differential Q2, which has just had its debut in the Alfa Romeo 147 1.9 Mjet. Even proportions will change a bit, to make the car more aggressive and to improve its sports performances. Firstly, the car will be three-door, with a wide track and a lower height from the ground.
When?
Voices about Alfa Romeo compact car production are quite uncertain. Someone says it will arrive together with the new 149, some others talk about a debut in 2009. We think the second hypothesis is probably the more realistic one.

Danas je u SAT-u (casopisu) detaljnije objavljeno o Junioru. Pa ideja i nije tako losa. Jeste Puntova platforma ali prilicno promenjena (Stednja, Sarmo, stednja). Trebalo bi da bude dobra zujalica. Jos ako stvarno motori budu .otrovni. a cena kao cena malo jaceg Punta eto radosti .

If everything seems under control, you're just not going fast enough.

:cool
Shta fali platformi Grande-a?

This latest rendering of the upcoming Alfa Romeo Junior is a close representation of what the final production model will look like, showing that the Italian designers have remained true to a concept sketch previously released by Alfa. The 2008 Junior has been confirmed for production and is pegged to go head-to-head with BMW?s popular Mini, Audi?s upcoming small car, and even the Fiat 500. Further evidence of the model?s release was detailed at an investor meeting in November last year. Fiat boss Sergio Marchionne gave details on Alfa?s future model ranges for 2008-2009, which included some concept sketches and potential price tags.
Presented at the meeting was a sketch of the Junior, which depicted a hatch with coupe-like styling and a three-door configuration. The new Junior is expected be built at Fiat?s Turinese plant in Mirafiori, Italy, alongside the Fiat Grande Punto, which shares the same platform as the baby Alfa. A base model will feature Fiat Group?s new 1.4L turbo engine developing around 150hp, while a high-performance model will adopt a 1.8L JTB direct injection turbo four-cylinder producing 220hp.
This performance variant may carry the title ?4C Junior? as homage to the stunning 8C Competizione supercar. The front-wheel-drive hot hatch will pick up Alfa?s innovative Q2 self-locking differential, which can transmit torque between the two front wheels, in addition to an aggressive bodykit and racing style alloys.
Production is scheduled for early 2008, with the first models to hit showrooms midway through the year, priced at ?16,000 and up. The release of the Junior will also coincide with the re-launch of the Alfa brand in the US towards the end of 2008, however, it?s unlikely to be sold Stateside due to problems with pricing.
Ne znam za vas, ali ja bih rado vozio i posedovao ovaj baby 8c! Ovo su josh uvek pretpostavke kako ce bebica izgledati...
